September 7, 2021Welcome Note

On behalf of Management and the entire Staff body of ASSI, I
wish to extend a hearty welcome to all our stakeholders, especially, Parents
and our dear Angels, as school resumes for all who were on vacation. As you may
all know, at ASSI, we are following two separate calendars in line with our two
programmes.
For our learners in the Cambridge stream, today marks the
beginning of the 2021/22 Academic Year, whilst for the GES stream, our learners
in Grades 4-6 begin their 3rd Trimester of the current (2021) Academic Year
from today till early December. Meanwhile, a special programme has been
arranged for our learners in transition to Grade 4B. Our JHS Department also
remains in session, in line with the prescribed GES calendar. Details of the
Calendar for the new Academic Year will be made available to Parents by close
of business today.
Sales of Books and Stationery
Notwithstanding a few challenges encountered with
suppliers/publishers in respect of a few of our recommended textbooks, we have
procured the bulk of books for distribution, and therefore, our Bookshop opens
from tomorrow, 8th September for the sale of Books and Stationery. The
Booklists can be accessed at the Bookshop to facilitate this exercise.
COVID-19 Protocols
We wish to emphasize that our COVID-19 prevention protocols
are fully operational, and all ASSI stakeholders are kindly requested to ensure
adherence as usual. Parents are urged to complement Management’s efforts by
sensitizing their wards to follow all protocols at all times while in school
and at home. All who enter the School’s premises are required to be in their
nose masks and follow all prescribed hygiene routines. Management is counting
on everyone for effective COVID-19 prevention. Parents are kindly requested to
liaise with the Accounts office for necessary action.
COVID-19 Levy
Kindly note that the School requires additional funds to
sustain the provision of logistics for handwashing and general disinfection and
sanitization, as well as monitoring learners to ensure their optimum health and
safety. However, Management has reviewed the COVID-19 levy and wishes to notify
all Parents of the following changes: Instead of the previous levy of GhC150.00
per learner, a subsidized levy of Ghc100.00 is now required per family (NOT PER
CHILD), to raise the necessary funds to sustain the School’s COVID-19
prevention efforts. As usual, Management is counting on your full cooperation
in this endeavour.
Orientation for New Parents and Learners
This will take place after School at 2:30pm on Friday, 11th
September at the forecourt of the Preschool. Further information will be
provided to relevant stakeholders in due course.
School Bus Service
The above service resumes today, 7th September, 2021 for all
prescribed routes. As usual advance payment is required for all subscribers.
New subscribers should kindly contact the Accounts Office for details.
Open Day
There will be an Open Day event on 14th October, 2021, to
facilitate Parent-Teacher interaction on issues pertaining to learners’
academic progress and related matters. All Parents are urged to keep the date
open to ensure full participation.
Deadline for payment of School Fees
In line with the existing payment schedule, all parents are
hereby reminded that the deadline for payment of School Fees is 19th October
2021. Your usual cooperation is kindly required to facilitate smooth school
operations and optimum service delivery.
Thank you.
